Woman says she was attacked in Wilkes-Barre during early morning jog

Female jogger says she was attacked in Wilkes-Barre.

A 20-year-old woman told Wilkes-Barre police she was attacked while jogging along South Hancock Street early Wednesday morning.

Officials say the woman reported to being grabbed by a man and thrown down to the ground at 2:00 in the morning.

The victim says the man tried to take off her pants before she was cut by a razor blade.

Police say after she escaped she was transported to the hospital.

The woman described the suspect as a black man, about 6 feet 2 inches tall, medium build, and wearing a black ski mask.
