Woman charged for crash that killed her daughter

A woman was arrested and charged Tuesday for a crash that killed one of her daughters in late June 2017.

Scranton Police Department posted on their Facebook page about the incident.

Scranton Police say 28-year-old Linette Villa of Scranton was driving her car on the McDade Expressway on June 25, 2017, going faster than 85 mph prior to the crash.

The crash killed Villa's 8-year-old daughter and critically injured her 6-year-old daughter.

Police say Villa had cocaine and marijuana in her system after the crash.

Villa was taken into custody and resisted arrest. Once arrested, police found cocaine and Xanax in her possession.

Scranton Police say the 28-year-old facing charges of involuntary manslaughter and DUI.

She is additionally charged with resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance.
