A lot of small towns throughout Pennsylvania are known to get people into the holiday spirit.

With the start of the Christmas season being less than two weeks away, one local hotel director is putting one small town in Wyoming County on the map with his musical talents.

According to one travel website, if you want to feel like you're stepping into a hallmark Christmas movie this holiday season, look no further than the small quaint town of Tunkhannock.

“I've you’ve never been to Tunkhannock, its absolutely beautiful during the Christmas season," says Jean Ruhf, Executive Director of Endless Mountains Visitor Bureau.

Ruhf says the Endless Mountains Visitor Bureau’s Christmas campaign is all about spreading the holiday cheer while bringing attention to the area and supporting small businesses.

“What we’re trying to do is highlight things going on in our area even with COVID going on. We have two unbelieve light shows, one at Stone Henge and another one up at Tall Pines," says Ruhf.

As you might be used to listening to all the classics on the radio, thanks to one Tunkhannock resident, you can expect something different with an "Endless Mountains Christmas."

Gary Kaschak – musically known as Gary Carl not only has a full time job as an executive director at Comfort Inn & Suites in Tunkhannock but is also an award winning Country Americana singer and songwriter.

“They gave me a call and said you know we were talking about this and explained a little bit about what it was and said we could really use a song for this and I said I can do that," says Kaschak. "Within the next two hours I had the lyrics and song in arrangement and by 6oclock that evening when I got home I recorded music to it sent the song and the demo over the phone and asked is this what you’re looking for and they said absolutely it is.”

Kaschak’s tune is inspired by the landscape of the Endless Mountains.

“It really is about what it is to be outside and the small shops, shop local and the landscape of the region I put some wordage and some text of it and I put it all together rather quickly," said Kaschak.
