Tractor-trailer crash on I-80, driver transported to hospital with serious injuries

WHITE HAVEN, LUZERNE CO, (WOLF) — One person is in the hospital following an intense tractor-trailer crash on I-80.

Officials with White Haven EMS say crews responded around 8:30 AM on Thursday at mile marker 268.1 for a multi-vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, a driver of a tractor-trailer was found to be entrapped in the cab of his vehicle with serious injuries.

White Haven EMS said the following in a statement:

A very difficult and challenging extrication was performed through the tremendous teamwork of multiple agencies. This incident is a perfect example of interagency cooperation and teamwork - between fire & rescue companies and EMS agencies - leading to a positive outcome.
