Televised lucky catch at MLB game has local ties to Hanover Twp.
How's this for a lucky catch.
John Hoolick of Hanover Township was at the Red Sox vs. Phillies game Wednesday.
He said he was on the phone with his daughter telling her how the game was going.
When she heard the roar of the crowd, she asked if someone hit a home run.
He told her to wait out the delay and she'd see him catch a foul ball.
The catch was lucky, but it was something he was thinking about from the start of the game.
"Yeah there was a young boy from Rochester, NY who was with his dad and his grandfather, they were at the hospital. And he chased a few foul balls during the game and he just couldn't get one and I was thinking, 'I'd love to get this kid a ball.' And lone behold the ball came right to me, it was like divine intervention because that was in my head," Hoolick said.
John and his family go to nearly a dozen games a year.
