Students from more than 80 school districts pitched some innovative ideas at Bloomsburg University Thursday.

It was part of the 3rd annual Husky Dog Pound - a spin on the show Shark Tank.

More than 600 students streamed in to Bloomsburg University's Zeigler College of Business.

"They have three minutes to pitch their idea and then the judges have 5 minutes to take questions and get some clarification on their ideas to see if they're profitable, marketable, or feasible," explained associate professor Christina Force.

Students waited in a room, practicing their pitches and hopefully taking care of some nerves before they headed off to face the dog pound.

They then pitched to business industry professionals.

"It's good to get that exposure at a very young age so they can actually take a product that they've thought about, really passionate about, and be able to design a product that somebody might actually pick up and actually use someday," said Todd Shawver, the interim dean of Zeigler College of Business.

The experience, providing valuable life lessons along the way.

"There are a lot of people who've got rejected and come back and been really successful," said Force.

$10,000 was given out between the top 30 teams, with first place taking home $1,000.
