The manner of death is declared as an accident.

UPDATE: Coroner Kelley tells us an autopsy was performed, but will not be released until the identification of the victim is made and next of kin have been notified.

UPDATE: Trooper Richard Blair says there are no updates in the ongoing investigation at this time.

He says a positive identification of the victim is still pending.

Coroner James Kelley says a female was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash Wednesday night.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

The Northumberland County Coroner Office and Pennsylvania State Police are still investigating.

State Police in Northumberland County are investigating the circumstances surrounding a death and a car accident tonight.

Details are very few and far between, but our friends at the Daily Item say that crash happened earlier this evening on Snydertown Road near Anthracite Road.

The county coroner is on scene and state troopers have confirmed that one person is dead and the circumstances of that crash are still being investigated.

Right now, Snydertown Road is closed from Main Street to Anthracite Road so make sure to avoid that area.

An update from police is expected at a later time.
