SCI Mahanoy inmate serving life sentence dies, found unresponsive in cell
An inmate serving a life sentence for murder at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Mahanoy has died.
The Superintendent Theresa DelBalso says Arnold Mulholland, 50, was found unresponsive in his cell Friday morning.
Officers and nurses performed CPR that was continued as Mulholland was transported to the medical department.
Mulholland was later pronounced dead, according to the coroner at SCI Mahanoy.
DelBalso says Muholland was serving life for murder from Philadelphia County. He was committed on May 22, 1990.
Officials say state police will conduct an investigation.
