Robber at laundromat in Hazleton potentially "armed and dangerous"

Police in Hazleton are searching for a man who held up the Brite Way Laundromat just before 1 p.m. Thursday.

Chief Speziale says the suspect asked the cashier for change for a $50 to play a game machine, but then came back demanding money from the register.

The man reportedly stated, "give me the money I'm desperate," and had his right hand concealed.

Police did not reveal if the suspect got away with any cash.

The hold up alarm was activated at the store on South Vine Street and he fled on foot towards Wendy's Restaurant.

Officials say the suspect is described as a white male with scabs on his face, wearing a hood, and a tan CarHartt jacket.

“This individual should turn himself in immediately because he is considered potentially armed, dangerous and will be considered as such."

An investigation is ongoing at this time. If anyone has any information on his identity, contact 911.
