Pittston ice skating rink showing support for law enforcement

A local ice skating rink is showing its support for our heroes in blue.

Revolution Ice Centre in Pittston is thanking officers Saturday, January 12, in honor of National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.

Officers and their families can skate for free from 1:30 pm to 3 pm and again from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

As for the people who come and do pay, 100% of those proceeds will go to the Lackawanna, Luzerne, and Northeast PA Chiefs of Police Associations.

Representatives for Revolution Ice say the money will be used for training and equipment.

"It's important for us to take a little time and give something back. Why not give time with your family back," said Karel Zubris, who works in public relations for the ice centre. "This is just a little thank you for us to appreciate what our law enforcement officers do for us 24/7."

Revolution Ice encourages people to wear blue, to show their support for officers as well.
