ORIGINAL STORY: The Lackawanna County coroner is investigating the death of a man who reportedly drove into Lake Scranton Tuesday morning.

Officials say the incident happened around 8:15 a.m. in Roaring Brook Township.

Crews rescued the 59-year-old man from Lehigh Valley inside of the pickup truck found in the lake.

The Lackawanna County coroner says the man was taken to the GCMC emergency room where he later died.

According to the coroner, a medical emergency "possibly" sent him into the lake, but they're awaiting autopsy results.
