Danville, Montour Co. — The Pennsylvania Department of Education Executive Deputy Secretary Angela Fitterer visited Danville High School today to highlight agricultural learning in schools.
The school talked about their students volunteering at the local animal shelter for hands-on veterinary experience and their different agricultural programs.
They gave a tour of their agricultural facilities including the greenhouse.
The school said they are going deeper into the sciences of agriculture and the mechanics to create a diverse workforce.
“The governor is definitely prioritizing career and technical education," said Fitterer. "There’s a 17 million dollar investment and that will go into programming but also buying equipment in schools.”
Danville High school says a lot of their students are finding success in college and in their careers with the training.
