Orthodontist in Lackawanna County buys back Halloween candy
An orthodontist's office in Dunmore is buying back Halloween candy, and using the money to benefit local charities.
This year the money is going towards the Scranton Cultural Center.
Catherine Healey, the Treatment Coordinator at Dr. Joyce Perih's office, said they received more than 400 pounds of candy donations last year.
"The program encourages our patients to not eat all of their Halloween candy. All of those sticky, gooey, gummy treats can affect their orthodontic health as well as their overall dental health," said Healey.
Dr. Pehri's office will start collecting candy on Thursday and continue collecting until November 12.
