WILKES-BARRE (WOLF) — This year marks the anniversary of the Nourish PA series for National Nutrition Month here in the commonwealth.
For many families experiencing food insecurity, maintaining a healthy diet becomes an afterthought when many might not know where their next meal may come from.
Which is bringing two organizations, Feeding Pennsylvania and PA Eats, that are bridging the gap between issues related to health and hunger with resources for Pennsylvanians.
"It was that we both have the same common goal of making sure that low income individuals are educated around nutrition and being able to prepare healthy foods that use ingredients that are commonly found in a food pantry or grocery store relatively inexpensively," said Jane Clements-Smith, Executive Director.
