Counseling, GoFundMe organized for North Pocono teen killed in car crash

UPDATE: The North Pocono Area School District is responding to the death of Patrick Luptak.

Officials posted Monday sharing their condolences to his family.

It touches on Patrick's involvement in the classroom, athletic field, and in academic competition.

He was a member of the high school's Class of 2019, according to the post.

Counseling is held Monday at both North Pocono Middle School and North Pocono High School starting at 9 a.m.

A GoFundMe account has also been set up to aide the family with funeral expenses.

ORIGINAL STORY: A 17-year-old was killed in a car crash Saturday evening in Roaring Brook Twp.

The Lackawanna County coroner says Patrick Luptak, 17, of North Pocono, died from multiple traumatic injuries sustained in the crash.

Luptak's vehicle reportedly traveled off of Route 435 just south of the Dunmore Borough line around 7 p.m.

According to officials, Luptak's vehicle was the only one involved in the wreck.

Roaring Brook Township Police are investigating.
