New Halloween attractions at Camelback

FOX 56's Brian Sheehan checks out the new Monster Mountain coaster

If you're looking for some Halloween fun this season, there's one spot that promises to offer plenty of new thrills and haunts for the whole family in the Poconos.

The all new Monster Mountain at Camelback Mountain Adventures is welcoming thrill-seekers with a 4,500-foot Monster Coaster. They're calling it the tri-state's only haunted mountain roller coaster. Some scares surprise riders on the way up then once they get to the top it's a complete free fall ride to the bottom with speeds over 30 miles per hour... and it's all in complete darkness.

Another new attraction... the Lights out Zip Lines which hurtle riders 1,000 feet through the pitch black tree tops, eight stories above the haunted happenings below. An eerie light show brings the forest to life all around you for a split second, only to plunge you back into total darkness as you speed toward your final destination along the haunted pathway at Trail's End.

Camelback Resort has also expanded its popular walk-through hunted house, Kartrite's Kurse, this season.

Catherine Parodo of New York tells FOX56 News she enjoyed the scary attractions Friday night.

It all runs through the end of the month. More traditional Fall Fest activities are also available, including pumpkin painting and apple chucking, as well as Halloween-themed crafts for kids.

Brian Czarnecki, Camelback's Vice President of Sales and Marketing, says "What makes our two new attractions unique for thrill-seeking guests is the integration of the Halloween spirit into the spirit of outdoor adventure that Camelback embodies year round."
