Mike Linden's Forecast | Cold remains in NEPA; snow shower chances emerge
The first full week of the month rolls on with cold temperatures and snow showers; just another typical winter day in NEPA. The thing is, Winter doesn't OFFICIALLY start until the 21st but Mother Nature doesn't care one bit.
Average temperatures this time of year should hit the low 40s and most spots were in the ballpark (around the upper 30s), it's the wind that has made it feel even colder. This is a trend you can expect to continue through the rest of the week as snow shower chances continue to come at us.
Most of NEPA won't see much as far as snow showers go but the possibility becomes a but more widespread heading into Saturday evening. Don't get me wrong, central PA around the Williamsport area saw some snow showers today but these won't likely impact the rest of NEPA.
A weak Alberta Clipper system will try to dive into Pennsylvania this weekend but totals won't be much to be concerned with. Once again, it's the cold and the wind that should be priority number one right now; especially late at night and early morning.
Looking ahead, another shot from the Polar Vortex arrives by next Wednesday taking temperatures down another rung into the mid 20s for DAYTIME HIGHS.
Layers are the name of the game this time of year.
