Mike Linden's Forecast | Brutal cold remains; snow shower chances return to NEPA
There aren't many days left in 2017 and if you're waiting to "warm" up you'll have to wait until 2018 to even get back to the freezing mark of 32°.
The rest of Thursday will run quite cold with overnight wind chills readings slipping into the sub zero single digits (layers, layers, LAYERS).
We'll be watching a clipper system diving into PA from Canada that may bring us a quick round of light snow showers starting Friday afternoon and picking up a bit into Saturday. While I'm not confident in anything major out of this, the cold air behind this system will plunge the Keystone State back into the low teens for New Year's Eve. In fact, one of the coldest periods of the month will arrive late on the 31st as double digit wind chill is once again likely.
The start to 2018 will be frigid but mostly sunny as daytime highs settle into the mid to to high teens. We'll return to the low 20s by next weekend but we're watching yet another chance for snow but this time a system riding the coast. If you're a winter weather fan, this is where you want a storm to be to see BIG totals in Pennsylvania...watch this space!
