Local talent to compete in 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals

Rev up your engines. It's time to head off-road.

Thousands are expected to attend the Summer 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals, which is making a stop at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds this weekend. It's a celebration of all things four-wheel drive.

Jason Starr, of Bloomsburg, has been coming since he was 10 years old. He's attended the Jamboree all 31 years that it has been up and running.

"My mom used to bring me down," Starr said.

Over the last two years he has found success competing in the Jamboree's UTV skills challenge. This year he's looking to achieve a milestone.

"Going for a three-peat."

Starr has won the UTV shootout two years in a row. This year he wants to make it three.

The competition is Saturday at 2 p.m.

"The competition's hard and he makes it look easy," Ethan Cunningham said.

The winner gets $550 but for Starr, it is not just about the money, but also about making memories.

The Jamboree continues Saturday and Sunday. For more information be sure to check out their website.
