Lackawanna Football Conference

Lackawanna Football conference media day was held earlier this week and our Bob ide talked to some of the coaches and players about the upcoming season.

On Monday, every team will take to the practice field for the start of a new football season. For Abington Heights the comets will rely on their skill players for success.

Nate We lost a lot of seniors this year butwe have some kids wo have experience starting and just playing coming back.

At North Pocono it’s all about keeping the momentum going after winning a district four A title last season.

JC Gaughan: I think are backfield is a strength and I feel like our line is going to be a strength once we get everything established there because we have some big boys up there

Valley view must replace their player makers. The cougars who have a tight knit group are looking for big things.

We lose a lot of older guys, a lot of talent on defense. We are going to be young, we are working really hard to get to where we were last year but we are going to be working every single day.

Bob: Valley View will open the season right here with their rivals from Lakeland. Just like the Cougars the chiefs have a lot of holes to fill.

Nico: like you said we don’t have a lot of guys that are returning but we have a lot of young guys coming up. Some Freshman guys that were part of a freshman team that was pretty successful.

Dunmore will be the favorite once again in decision 3. The bucks must find a running back but their line has the experience to make anyone look good.

Luke: We have most of our defensive line back, we lost one of our linebackersbut we stillhave one of them there. Defensive back wise most everyone is back.

And finally, at Old Forge the Blue Devils feel they can return back to the glory days of a few years ago.

King: Last year there was obviously a lack of leadership. Not everyone, lack of commitment not everyone wanted to be there. This year it is completely different, everyone is there, everyone is getting to workouts, lifting, practicing everything.
