SCRANTON (WOLF) -- Some spelling errors on Lackawanna county monuments are finally getting fixed.
Letters, names, and quotes on around 20 different monuments are being corrected.
A dedicated committee has been on the job for about two years to fix the errors now a $60,000 dollar project.
Workers also plan to clean and replace an adams avenue sidewalk, and add two monuments.
Lackawanna County Arts and Culture says the details matter.
"I think it's just going to feel like the right thing to do and everything will be the way it should be and I think we can be really... not that we weren't proud of it before but we can be really proud of it now that everything's correct and doing justice to the people that we're quoting," says Maureen McGuigan from Lackawanna County Arts & Culture.
Project leaders aim to be done in the next few months.
