Keystone College hosts 5th annual Cupcake Challenge
LA PLUME, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WOLF) —
Enjoying sweet treats and fighting cancer at the same time.
Keystone College’s Hospitality and Event Planning Program hosting its 5th annual Cupcake Challenge tonight.
For $10, students and community members can sample six cupcakes from dozens of bakers and bakeries across the area.
All of the proceeds go to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
“Before I helped out with this event, I never really know that pancreatic cancer was such a deadly cancer and so few survivors. So its really raised awareness not only outside to guests, but also internally when you’re building this. You need to know what you’re making money for. It has really helped the cause. We donated I think it was $2,000 last year and we’re hoping to up it this year,” student Felicity Rudden said.
The top cupcakes are chosen by three judges and votes from the public.
