PSP: Male body found in Carbon Co. creek identified
PARRYVILLE BOROUGH, CARBON COUNTY (WOLF) —
UPDATE: The body found in the Pohopoco Creek in Carbon County Sunday night was identified.
PSP in Lehighton says the body was identified as 32-year-old Kareem Walker, of Jim Thorpe, following an autopsy.
The victim was previously reported missing to the Jim Thorpe Police Department, according to police.
UPDATE: State Police in Lehighton say that the body found is an unidentified male.
Troopers were called to the scene around 7: 30 p.m. Sunday, according to the release.
PSP says it was assisted by the Parryville Fire Department.
A kayaker reported a body found in Pohopoco Creek in Lehighton Sunday night.
The coroner says he pronounced them dead just before 11 p.m.
The body had been in the water for about two to three months, according to the coroner.
There has been no release of the gender and identity of the body.
The coroner says an autopsy will be performed on Wednesday.
State police in Lehighton are investigating and aren't releasing any more information at this time.
