Intoxicated, off-duty EMT strikes Pocono Mountain high school security vehicle
POCONO SUMMIT, MONROE COUNTY (WOLF) —
An off-duty EMT is facing DUI charges after hitting a high school's security vehicle while under the influence in Monroe County Tuesday.
Pocono Mountain Regional Police says it happened at Pocono Mountain West High School.
Gregory Maresca, 27, of Kunkletown, was driving under the influence of alcohol and narcotics around 12:45 a.m., according to authorities.
Officials say Maresca resisted arrest after striking the vehicle and was tasered to be subdued.
He was transported to a local hospital for health concerns.
Police in Monroe County say resisting arrest charges are also pending against Maresca.
