POCONO TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WOLF) -- A house was destroyed in a fire in Pocono Township.

It happened around 12:45 p.m. Saturday on Sylvan Cascade Road.

Fire Chief Brad Harrison says they got a call for a possible kitchen fire and found heavy fire at the home.

He says the woman who lives there was distraught, and made it out and went in a car with someone to go to a safe place.

A fire marshal was called from PSP Fern Ridge to investigate. The weather didn't help matters for firefighters.

"Obviously, when the call came in, the roads were kind of not the best, so they were slippery, snow-covered, so it delayed us a little bit," says Harrison. "When I got here, heavy fire from the front, a lot of smoke pushing out from all around."

Several fire companies including Jackson Twp., Stroud Twp., Marshalls Creek, Stroudsburg, Barrett Twp., and a few ambulances with St. Lukes, Suburban, and Marshalls Creek, were called to the scene. No injuries were reported.

We're told it's a full-time residence and not a vacation home. The cause is under investigation.
