The National Weather Service has declared a high wind warning in Northeastern Pennsylvania Wednesday.

Emergency crews have been responding to downed trees all across NEPA.

Local fire departments are asking their social media followers to contact them immediately about any downed trees or wires.

PPL Electric also took to social media about the high wind warning.

PPL says to always assume downed power lines are live and to not touch or leave your car if you come in contact with one.

Over 4,000 residences are reported to be without power in NEPA, according to PPL's outage map.

The National Weather Service's high wind warning is in effect from 10 a.m. to midnight.
