Friday Night Rivals Preview
West Scranton has been besieged with injuries in the first half f the season. There starting quarterback, offensive linemen and running back all either out for the season or just one game.
Brian Fahey the West Scranton Head coach said "sometimes I don’t think, ya know, you lost your tailback you have another one. You do but there is a domino effect on the other side of the ball on defense sometime son special teams where it effects your whole roster event though you are down one position."
For the most part our kids have responded really well. We do not have the results but I think we have been successful managing the attitude of the team despite some injuries.
One of those players back is junior Andre chollette who ran for 87 yards in his first game back in over a year.
North Pocono has lost two straight to Scranton and Delaware Valley, add in the fact that they have not beaten West Scranton in two seasons, means this Trojan team is hungry.
JC Gaughan the North Pocono tailback said " that’s always in the back of our minds, it’s something we want to impress upon them that we want to go out there and show them what North Pocono football is all about."
Greg Dolhon the North Pocono head coach added " oh and five, oh and five, I don’t look at them as a good football team, I look at a desperate team. They are desperate to come up here and win. The last two years they played better than us and deserved to win. So Friday night we have to play better them and deserve to win."
To Win the Trojans will have to play physical up front and get quarterback Donny Blaine and tailback JC Gaughan into the game early.
"I feel like we can always do everything better, blocking tackling, the normal things you have to do to be a good football team we have to do better and I think we will this week."" added Gaughan
