Former representative Lou Barletta speaks of potential run for governor
WILKES BARRE (WOLF) — Following Senator Pat Toomey’s announcement Monday that he will not seek re-election in 2022, a few names have surfaced as possible candidates.
Former U.S. Representative Lou Barletta says he wont run for the senate but has his eyes on the Governor’s seat.
Barletta has served four two year terms in the U.S. house of Representatives and won his party’s nomination in 2010.
For the time being, Barletta tells FOX56 he is fully committed to helping President Trump getting re-elected.
"I've been seeing how Governor Wolf has handled the closing of businesses in Pennsylvania during the COVID virus I was a small business owner before i got in government prior to going to Washington and serving Congress I think that experience it gives me a good background that could be beneficial the people of Pennsylvania," said Barletta.
Barletta served as Mayor of Hazleton from 1999 to 2010.
