Former police officer sentenced to up to 5 years on bribery, obstruction charges

STROUDSBURG, MONROE CO, (WOLF) — A former police officer in Monroe County accused of raping a woman who he pulled over for a traffic violation has now been sentenced.

According to the Monroe County District Attorney's Office, Steven Mertz has been sentenced to 2.5 to 5 years for bribery and obstruction of justice.
