Fire Breaks Out in Pittston, Crews Save Cat

Fire fighters are investigating a duplex that caught fire Wednesday afternoon on Searle Street in Pittston.

A woman who lives in the duplex says she saw the other side go up in flames.

No one was home, but crews did save a cat, after giving it air.

"Right off the bat, being the time of day, we went right to second alarm for manpower, so we brought in multiple crews from other towns." Pittston Fire Chief Jim Rooney said. "The fire crews did an excellent job, keeping the fire to what go to."

The American Red Cross is helping the three people who lived in the duplex.
