LEHIGH TOWNSHIP, WAYNE COUNTY (WOLF) -- UPDATE: Steven Cooper, 19, was taken into custody Wednesday.
U.S. Marshals say he was found hiding in a closet at a home in New York .
“It’s the Marshals Services’ duty to ensure that those charged with violent crimes have their day in court. It is my sincere hope that the victim’s family will find some measure of comfort knowing the suspect will face justice," said United States Marshal Pane.
Cooper is the fifth suspect arrested believed to be involved in the Lehigh Township death of Joseph Stengline Sr. back in December 2017.
ORIGINAL STORY: Authorities are seeking a 19-year-old believed to be the fifth suspect in a Lehigh Township homicide back in December 2017.
Investigators say Joseph Stengline Sr. was allegedly beaten and stomped to death by Steven Cooper, of Mount Pocono, and four other individuals in a home invasion.
The four other homicide suspects, Coneil “Murda” Moore, Lewis “Ricky” Tucker, and Darian "Smoove" Daniels, and Kevin "Kas" Jordan, are all in custody.
They are facing first and second degree murder, robbery, burglary, aggravated assault, and other related charges.
Officials say Cooper is known to frequent the Mount Pocono and Tannersville area in Monroe County.
