SCRANTON (WOLF) -- A raid led by the FBI at Scranton City Hall on Wednesday has many people in the Electric City wondering why.
Agents also visited Mayor Bill Courtright’s home that same day.
An FBI spokesperson says the agents carried out “court-authorized law enforcement activity” at both locations, but declined to comment about what they were looking for.
The city’s solicitor also declined to comment.
“Well I’m hoping that the mayor and his administration fully cooperate with the FBI in whatever matter they’re investigating. And that the mayor and his administration keep us informed, council and the public, as much as they can," Scranton city councilman Bill Gaughan said.
The raids are expected to be discussed at Monday’s Scranton city council meeting.
