"When one woman rises, we all rise," said Holly Pilcavage, Executive Director at Coal Creative and committee member of Dress for Success Luzerne County, Spearheading the 31 Days of Women in Power campaign.

Dress for Success Luzerne County is hoping to reverse the damages that the pandemic has caused to women in the work force and help them get back on their feet to achieve economic independence.

For the next 31 days, Luzerne County's Dress for Success will be showcasing women in our area on social media, in interviews and on bill boards to spread awareness of the powerful women in North East PA.

"It's highlighting the women that and I'll say it are typically behind the scenes or making all the magic happen, but don't necessarily always get the spotlight," said Pilcavage.

To participate in the events you can visit Dress for Success Luzerne County's website and social media pages.

By making a donation or purchasing a women in power t-shirt from Axel Rad Screen Printing you will be directly benefiting women in need.

Last year, Dress for Success passed 10 years in Luzerne County.

"At it's core impowering women and now they do that through a variety of different ways whether it is supporting them and getting them job ready by helping them with different types of skills maybe resume writing and in addition to and of course dressing them in the appropriate attire not only for the job interviews, but to go to the actual job," said Pilcavage.

The pandemic has caused a need for economic assistance in the community.

"Because of how many women across the board and especially in our county and the local community have had to leave their jobs or maybe reduce hours just again for very valid reasons, raising families or whatever it might be there is going to be a lot more women out there that are going to need the services that are provided by Dress for Success Luzerne County to get back into the work force and maybe get back onto their own two feet when this is all said and done," said Pilcavage.
