Diocese of Scranton launches survivors compensation program
SCRANTON (WOLF) -- The Diocese of Scranton announced an Independent Survivors Compensation Program Thursday.
Anyone who suffered sexual abuse by the clergy, religious, or lay employees is eligible.
It's entirely voluntary.
An independent committee will oversee the program.
The diocese will not have any authority over the committee.
The money is not enough for Attorney General Josh Shapiro though.
He says lawmakers should do their jobs and pass the grand jury's reforms.
