Dallas vs Berwick Preview

Berwick Dawgs

With 18 starters gone from last season Berwick head coach Frank Sheptock is looking for players to step up. He found one in senior Evan Klinger. The senior rushed for 83 yards in his first start at tailback and scored a touchdown. He also led the team in tackles with 9 plus interception.

Frank Sheptock says Evan, he personifies Berwick football. He loves football, he’s passionate about it. You know his football iq is off the charts, he learned since I have been here maybe 5 or 6 positions because we have asked him to do lot of stuff.

During summer camp the bulldogs lost starting quarterback jared marshman to an injury. junior Alex force has stepped in and played like a veteran.

Frank, when jared unfortunately went down obviously, he thought he could come in and do the job and we couldn’t be more pleased with how he is doing things right now. He has a unique leadership style. The team has responded to him.

At Dallas the mountaineers have not beaten Berwick since 2011 and that includes last season 42 to nothing loss. This year expect things to be different.

Rich Mannello says, we have to be able to get off of the bus, we have to be sound in the special teams, we got to tackle well in the open field and we have to be able to sustain drives offensively.

Last week Dallas easily took care of Coughlin. Lenny Kelley rushed for 206 yards and 4 touchdowns plus an interception for a touchdown…

We have a nice mix here of the older kids that have meshed with those 10 graders now who have played a lot as 9th graders and he is one them and it is expected.,said coach Mannello
