Community day raises money for local causes in Hazleton
HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WOLF) — The Paul and Lisa DeAngelo Family Foundation held its 1st annual Independence Day Charity event in Hazleton today.
Dozens of visitors showed up to City View Park for a 5 and 10k Walk and Run all to support some great causes.
People had the opportunity to enjoy exotic car and truck displays along with silent auctions featuring autographed sports memorabilia.
The event also attracted some former NFL players.
"We had some rain but I don't think it dampened the spirits of all of the people the spirits of the people were raising money to help kids and change the future of the many families throughout northeastern Pennsylvania is something that we're passionate about. and there's no rain in the world to stop us from doing that," said Paul DeAngelo.
We’re told $100,000 has been raised with 100% of the proceeds going towards Curing Kids Cancer, Youth Sports and the Autism community
