Car dealership holds "Tornado Sale" for discounts on damaged cars
WILKES-BARRE TWP. (WOLF) -- A Luzerne County car dealership is turning lemons into lemonade after last month’s tornado.
More than 400 cars at Ken Pollock Nissan on Mundy Street in Wilkes-Barre Township were scratched, dented, or otherwise damaged during that storm.
Now, they’re being discounted as part of the dealership’s “Tornado Sale”.
It officially started today, but the general manager says they've been busy since the week after the storm, selling an average of 18-20 cars a day.
“We got people taking numbers, it feels like a little deli counter. You know, people taking numbers to get help. So its just a matter of people being patient, they come in, we’re doing our best to get through the customers, through the process and stuff because it is a process – we have the check all the cars out and know the assessment of the vehicle in order to move forward to give a price. People are saving thousands of dollars on the cars, so it’s a great deal for them as long as they’re patient. We’re going to stay here and try to work every deal we can,” general manager Gary Peters said.
There is no official ending date for that sale.
It will last until all of the damaged cars are sold.
