Area kids take part in Camp Cadet
WHITE HAVEN, LUZERNE COUNTY (WOLF-TV) —
This week area kids are getting a taste of what it's like to take part in a law enforcement academy program.
More than 80 area youth from Luzerne, Wyoming, Sullivan, and Bradford Counties are taking part in Troop “P” Camp Cadet this week.
The goal of the program is to introduce kids to the criminal justice program and help build a positive relationship with law enforcement.
"Earlier today, right before lunch, we had some SWAT team member come in and talk to us. And he flew a flash bang up in the air, and that was really fun. I got to try on his armor and do pushups in it, which I liked that,” Conner Smithkors from Dushore, Sullivan County, said.
The program is free and available to any boys or girls in the state between the ages of 12 to 15.
