WILKES-BARRE (WOLF) -- More than 200 people turning out today in Wilkes-Barre to raise money in the fight against lung cancer.

Breathe Deep NEPA hosted its 8th annual 5K walk and fun run in Kirby Park.

It raises money for Lungevity – a organization that funds scientific research for lung cancer across the country.

“Everyone that has been here has been touched, either a family member, a spouse, friends. Unfortunately, lung cancer is very prevalent and yeah, we’ve all been touched in some way," Pauline Makowski, event coordinator, said.

So far, Breathe Deep NEPA has raised nearly $12,000.
