    3 adults, 1 child hospitalized after head-on crash in Mountain Top

    Four people are recovering in the hospital after a two-car crash in Mountain Top.

    Rice Township police tell us there was a man and a child inside a pick-up truck, and a man and woman both in their 40s or 50s in an SUV.

    The crash happened around 6 p.m. on a sharp turn along Nuangola Road.

    Police say the pick-up truck crossed the center line.

    "Upon arriving on scene I discovered there was a juvenile male entrapped in the vehicle. Also there were two other people confined within their vehicle. The juvenile was extracted out by me and another officer at which point fire arrived on scene. Fire was able to take the door off one of the vehicles and extract two of the passengers. All were taken to the hospital as trauma patients," said Officer Andrew Hashagen, with the Rice Township Police Department.

    Police say all four victims were talking when they left the scene.

    Two of them are being treated at Geisinger Wyoming Valley.

    The other two were taken to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
