2 Hawley teens in custody for terroristic threats to school
Two teens are in custody for making terroristic threats and related offenses.
The Pennsylvania State Police in Blooming Grove were alerted by the Wallenpaupack School District on Thursday about threats made to the school and a student on Instagram.
After an investigation, two teen boys from Hawley, ages 15 and 12, were taken into custody.
The Wallenpaupack School District released a statement on their website: "The Wallenpaupack Area School District officials, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania State Police, have identified and taken into custody the individuals responsible for social media threats towards a high school student. The School District will continue to make the safety and security of our students and staff the highest priorities."
Criminal charges are pending in the Pike County Juvenile Court.
