Two in custody for Williamsport area homicide

State police have arrested two men in connection with a deadly shooting in Lycoming County.

Two men have been arrested in connection to the November 12th deadly shooting along Poco Farm Road near Williamsport.

State Police say 22-year-old Zachary Williams and 22-year-old Joshua Cooley, both of Williamsport, are in custody for the murder of Maurice Dowling.

Law enforcement determined that Dowling, Williams and Cooley traveled to area of Poco Farm Road together. Police say that's where Williams shot and killed Dowling, then both he and Cooley left the scene and conspired to get rid of several pieces of evidence.

Police say Williams is facing charges of criminal homicide, aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit burglary, receiving stolen property, persons not to possess firearm and tampering with physical evidence. He did not receive bail.

Police say Cooley is facing charges of receiving stolen property, conspiracy to commit burglary, carrying a firearm without a license and tampering with physical evidence. His bail was set at $150,000.
