NORTH MANHEIM TOWNSHIP, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY (WOLF) -- A Schuylkill Haven man was taken into custody after a day-long standoff with state police in North Manheim Township.
Troopers say 69-year-old Christopher Loftus threatened to kill a 69-year-old woman around 9 a.m. Wednesday while holding a shotgun at his residence.
Loftus allegedly said he would shoot any police officer that walked onto his porch.
According to officials, numerous failed negotiations were made to get him out of the home.
A special response team made entry into Loftus' home and arrested him around 2 a.m. Thursday.
State police say firearms were found inside along with a loaded shotgun.
