Wife in court after alleged murder-for-hire plot
BARRETT TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WOLF) -- A Mount Pocono woman was back in court after police say she tried to have her husband killed.
Robin Transue, 43, waived her preliminary hearings on Thursday.
The criminal complaint says she tried hiring a hit man to kill her husband, a Mount Pocono borough councilman, because of marital problems, and the fact he knew about her having sex with a 14-year-old boy several years ago.
Investigators say she apparently had three "plans" for his death, including a staged hunting accident, Valium, and a house fire.
Transue is out on bail, which is listed at $50,000 for both cases. The charges against her include criminal solicitation of murder and unlawful contact with a minor.
