Commonwealth Health Emergency Medical Services (CHEMS) honored a Wayne County woman for saving a life.

Lakeville, Wayne County (WOLF) Commonwealth Health Emergency Medical Services (CHEMS) honored a Wayne County woman for saving a life.

Amanda Stout came across a burning car that had been in a crash. She pulled the woman from the car as first responders arrived.

"I heard one more scream come out her, like I've never heard in my life," recalled Stout, "So primal that automatically I had no choice in this situation. I had to get this woman out of the car. Luckily I got a door open and I did not get shocked and I got her out."

Stout was awarded a certificate and a challenge coin.

Without Stout, first responders say the woman would've been severly burned or even worse.

CHEMS wanted to highlight everyday heroes in our area following the stories coming out of Las Vegas, where friends, family, and strangers administered help to shooting victims.
