Wayne County likely to have first female judge
HONESDALE, WAYNE COUNTY (WOLF) -- Wayne county is likely to hit a milestone with their first female judge.
Current District Attorney Janine Edwards took both the Democratic and Republican primary win for Wayne County. She is hoping to make it official following the November election.
She was the first female District Attorney for the county and has extensive education and experience in law. She also has deep roots in the area, born and raised in Honesdale. Edwards says being a woman will give her a good balance in the position.
"I'm thrilled and honored to be able to represent in the judicial office, but being a judge doesn't really know boundaries of male and female, Republican or Democrat. You take the facts as they come and make decisions when you see them," says Edwards.
If solidified as Judge for Wayne County, she hopes to carry on tackling the issue of drug addiction.
