Sending messages of support to Harvey victims
SCRANTON (WOLF-TV) —
Students at Marywood University are doing their part to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey.
In addition to collecting money, members of the Marywood Media Group are encouraging people to write messages of support to victims, first responders and journalists who covered the hurricane for several days.
People can record video messages to send as well.
“We’ve had a lot of students write letters. They’ve really been encouraging,” student organizer Jessica Bonacci said.
“They’ve stopped by and donated. We’ve had some students donate a couple times; I’ve seen them come over. People have really just wanted to help, so it’s really great that the campus is getting together to help,” she added.
The messages and donations will be sent to those affected.
The fundraiser runs through Thursday.
