Scott Twp. couple charged with animal cruelty in hoarding case
SCOTT TOWNSHIP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WOLF) -- A Scott Township couple is charged with animal cruelty after police found 20 animals in inhumane conditions.
Robert and Hope Sia are charged with seventeen counts of animal neglect and three counts of animal cruelty.
Fifteen of the twenty animals were dogs, many of which were left without food and water and had flea infestations.
According to police records, one dog tested positive for lyme disease, tape worm, skin infections, and was pregnant.
Police seized the animals in October with the help of Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.
Many of the pets are now under the care of foster families.
