Roast beef dinner aims to raise money for Holy Family Residence computer upgrades
SCRANTON (WOLF) -- The Little Sisters of the Poor hosted their annual fall roast beef dinner today.
This is the seventh year the sisters hosted the meal at the Holy Family Residence.
Its catered courtesy of Stirna’s Restaurant in Scranton, and includes a bake sale with homemade treats made by the sisters.
The dinner typically feeds 800 people each year with visitors from Scranton and beyond.
“We cannot do the work we are doing by ourselves, so we depend on the help of people around us. The wonderful people of Northeastern Pennsylvania has been supporting our work and most of the people here are not only friends of our residents and families, but also those who have gone before us whom we took care of – and the families do come back,” Sister Theresa Louisa said.
All of the proceeds from the dinner will be used to update the computer system at the facility to coordinate the residents’ care.
