'Tis the season... for returns

Post Christmas sees spike in returns

EDWARDSVILLE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WOLF) -- While Christmas may be over, holiday returns are now in full swing.

UPS in Gateway Shopping Center says they've seen as many returns just the day after Christmas as they saw packages going out before the holiday, attributing the busyness to a rise in online shopping.

Local delivery experts stress making sure that you have all the correct information for your shipments before handing it over. Otherwise, you may experience a lost or delayed package.

"Make sure you have address validation. Make sure you have the proper labeling. Make sure you have the proper addresses, especially return merchandise authorization - RMA or RA numbers - listed clearly on your labels or on the boxes so that when the companies do receive them, they know that it's coming for you and they authorized you to return the merchandise," said UPS Manager Gabe Dalessandro.

He also suggests putting information inside the package as well as the outside in case something happens to the label.
